Shergar

Shergar on Parade

Brendan Tohill and the team at Shergar Thoroughbreds met recently at the Anthony Cummings Stables at Caulfield Race Track. This was a great opportunity for the owners of the horses and their families to enjoy Champagne and canapés supplied by MLS Management and hear Anthony Cummings talk about the training and progress of each horse.

Our photographer Richard Dobbie from Photoeventz took photos of the horses and their owners which was lots of fun and I am pleased to say that the horses were very well behaved! You can see the photos here.

Good luck to all the owners and may 2012 be truly prosperous for you all and your four-legged friends.

MFAA Victoria Christmas Party

The MFAA Christmas party was held in the beautiful Sofitel on Collins Ballroom. The Sofitel staff were wonderful and did everything to exceed our expectations. MLS Management enjoys theming this ballroom very much and we love standing back once it is all set-up to see our vision come to life. Our photographer extraordinaire, Richard Dobbie is always there to capture all the fun on the night.

Brad Blaze was very entertaining with his incredible speed painting with his artwork later auctioned to raise funds for Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney. Brad is so entertaining and such a delightful person.

Everybody at MLS Management would like to wish all our clients a Happy Christmas and Blessings throughout 2012. See you all in 2012 after a well earned break.

Mary-Louise Santa features in ALIST Guide

The AList Guide is the premier industry guide if you are looking for assistance in organising an event or you need to source an entertainer or a venue.

As well as an annual book guide, the ALIST also publishes a regular ENews. The latest ENews contained an article about Mary-Louise Santa. The full text of the article reads:

"MLS Management - Managing Director Mary-Louise Santa is one of those special sopranos who shine in many situations, whether on stage in music theatre and opera, or in performance for concert and corporate audiences.

Mary-Louise’s rich, colourful voice is the foundation for a wide variety of musical styles, from Mozart, Rossini, Puccini and Verdi, through to Gershwin, Sondheim and Lloyd Webber, to traditional Italian folk songs and popular modern ballads."

The article included a link to more information on the AList website.

Another successful conference – Sheraton Resort Noosa QLD

It has been a busy year here at MLS Management. We have just returned from organising a conference for mortgage brokers at The Sheraton Resort, Noosa. The program of keynote speakers and entertainment meant that the brokers left with excellent tools to improve their businesses.

Craig Harper also made sure that our brokers went away aiming to improve their overall fitness too! Chris Helder was invited back after his insightful performance at the conference last year to totally engage the audience yet again presenting The Five Keys to Momentum and The Power of Influence.

Ben Price (impersonator) and his many personalities... first as Dr. Phil and then as Rambo had the audience scrambling for a photo! Well done Ben!

Yes! Both photos are of Ben Price in his guise (his jokes are funny too!).

National Breast Cancer Cup Eve Ball – November 1st, 2010

Mary-Louise Santa spent the year on the organising committee for The inaugural National Breast Cancer Cup Eve Ball which was held on 1st November 2010.
It was a superb night at the Hotel Sofitel with more than 400 guests in attendance. The headline acts Jessica Mauboy & Shannon Noll bands made sure that the dance floor was always full and the addition of opera performances by Soprano Mary-Louise Santa and tenor Marco Cinque, ensured all musical tastes were catered for including Opera, Rock and Pop.
Brendan Tohill, the founder of this wonderful event lost his mother to breast cancer in 2002 and wanted to raise funds and awareness. He is also a expert in thoroughbred race horses and tipped the winner of the Cup Sweep to the winning table at the ball. This lucky table won themselves $33K with their Sportsbet voucher!
I’m sure they will be back to support the event next year! Well done to everybody involved with the event.

Giving your clients something to remember . . .

When you are using a function to promote your brand, you need to give your guests something to remember. We did this to great effect in a couple of recent functions.

Our guests were delighfully surprised with the graphic of our client's logo incorporated into the sweets - it was quite a talking point Austrian backdropand reinforced the brand message. We also had our photographer set up an onsite printing facility so the guests could take home a personal photo (with an overlay of the client logo of course).

At another function we transported guests to Austria with a specially commissioned backdrop of the Schonbrun Palace - our Austrian based client was delighted.

We emphasised the theme of the night with appropriate entertainment and costumes.

11 December, 2007 - 'Footy worshipper' Angela Pippos to join Radio Sport 927

Angela PipposFormer ABC television presenter and journalist Angela Pippos will join Radio Sport 927 next year as co-host of the Prime Time Sports breakfast program.

Ms Pippos will work alongside current co-host Michael Christian. She replaces Mick McGuane, who has been offered a supplementary role he is considering. Ms Pippos starts at the station on February 4, 2008.

Radio Sport 927 general manager Noel Crowe said the station had been searching for some time for a competent female sports presenter for the breakfast show. "This is the first time we will have had a male and female breakfast partnership, which is popular in commercial radio and appeals to the listeners," Mr Crowe said. "We believe we have found the perfect presenter in Angela who has the ideal profile with her wealth of sports knowledge, articulation and appealing personality."

Ms Pippos, who began her career with the ABC in her hometown of Adelaide, moved to ABC TV news in Melbourne in 1997. Although she has been a guest presenter on ABC 774 Radio, Ms Pippos said she is delighted to be making her first fulltime venture into radio broadcasting.

"I'm very excited about this next phase in my career," Ms Pippos said. "After 14 years in television I'm looking forward to the freedom of radio and life without hairspray. This job combines my love of sport with something else I enjoy doing - chatting. I'm a sports nut. At the age of eight I threw away my ballet shoes and picked up a shiny new netball in one arm and a footy in the other and this was the beginning of my love affair with sport and I've been riding the rollercoaster ever since."

This year Ms Pippos was crowned Victoria's Best and Clearest TV presenter for a fifth time and her love of sport extends to writing her first book The Goddess Advantage - One Year in the Life of a Football Worshipper, which was short-listed for the Colin Roderick Award for Australian literature. She is working on a second book to be published in 2008. Ms Pippos was asked by the ALP to stand for Steve Bracks' Williamstown seat this year, but she turned down the approach.

The Prime Time Sports program airs from 5.30am to 9am on weekdays.

4th October 2007 - Angela Pippos resigns from ABC TV

Angela PipposAfter more than ten years with ABC TV News in Victoria Angela Pippos has resigned as Sports Journalist and Presenter.

"To use the words of retiring great Glenn Archer, the time is right for me to move on. I've had 14 wonderful years at the ABC and now I'm ready for my next challenge." - Angela Pippos.

"Angela has resigned from her position as ABC TV News Sports Journalist and Presenter and will be pursuing other opportunities in the media…, but with her passion, vivaciousness and intellect her future is bright." - Mary-Louise Santa, MLS Management.

Angela wishes to thank the ABC and the community for their support over the years however she doesn't intend to disappear from public view.

Angela Pippos shall announce her plans for the future shortly.
